Do you remember it ever being this dirty?
My friend Sorah sent me this clip. Took me a second but it's hilarious.

Oh, the memories
I'm watching Voyager tonight... and I watched this episode. I remember this vividly from when I was 17. Oh, the memories. I haven't laughed out loud in so long. Such a good episode.

Nicole's birthday
Had a lot of fun with Nicole, Mark, Nola and company recently for Nicole's birthday. Dinner at Dinosaur BBQ and drinks after at the Olde Toad. Too much fun, and Mark is wonderful for Nicole. I'm really looking forward to their wedding in N.C. this summer.

Work on Nola's house this weekend
Below are some pictures we took this weekend of the recent work in Nola's house. Mom and Nola took out the kitchen door and window and sealed it up.
They also sealed the floors upstairs after washing them several times. Carpeting and fresh paint will finish up the area nicely. After reinforcing the floor and completely rewiring and re-plumbifying (??) the house, the place is WARM, POWERED and smelling goooood.
We also managed to make some 50 plus trips to and from a rented Lowes truck over the course of two trips to Lowes with a ton of lumber and flooring and such. Thousands of dollars worth of supplies.
A lot of work, and the house is really coming together.

Door project
So I've been so pleased with the way my doors have turned out. As soon as I bought my house.. I said.. I will replace these doors. They were old. They were ugly. They just screamed to be replaced. I finally got around to it (after the new tax credits began Jan. 1) and got the doors and had my door/window guy get them in.
OLD (front):
NEW (front):
The front was the most pressing. It had a door from the 70s (I think) and had no insulating protection, hid the actual beautiful wood door, and just conflicted with the look of the house. But the door is too tall for standard sizes, so I had to custom order/design it for a premium. But it turned out perfectly.
I also replaced the rear kitchen door and storm, but blah, they sorta look the same, except being new, clean and very energy efficient.
Rock on.

Closet workings
Yesterday, my mother and I spent several hours working on my master bedroom walk-in closet. It's not done, much to my dismay, but we have all the brackets and shelves up, so at least now I have a place to put all my clothes in an organized way.
OLD:
NEW:
What is left? We have to install the carpet, repaint the ceiling, put up (and down) molding and install a new door. But hey, it's miles ahead of where it was when we started.
