Quiet week, but games tonight

It's been a quiet week. No classes. No exams. Bliss. Relaaaaaax. Breathe. It's been nice. I spent some time with my sister on Tuesday night, brought her dinner, hung out with her and Alex at their place. Helped with her midterm paper. Did a bit of running around and errands last night, some grocery shopping. I always bring a short list of 5 things to buy.. including cat food, milk, cereal and bread. About the only items I need. But I come out with 30 things and a bill of $72. But I'm trying to buy items that create more balanced "meals" to eat, rather than quick microwave and go. It's a challenge. While I like to cook, I just don't have the will to eat balanced, healthy. When I make myself dinner, it's so delayed. I'll start at 5:30 and won't eat until an hour and a half later. It seems like too much work. But those meals are always the healthiest, produce the most leftovers and are so delicious.
So tonight is game night, except Jake has another idea (quoted from email):
"High. What R U dueing too nite? Eye was thing king a bout go wing two am brrrrrr and den is is too knight with Cass E too plague aims if U wand ed 2 camel long. Eye git ow tuv ear at a rounds icks. If U meat me ats icks phif teen at my how sweek an goephe rum their."So we're trying something new tonight.
We have a new person at work. She's doing a lot of the same stuff I had to do a year ago. I sat down with her yesterday for an hour and talked to her about her job, what's gonna happen, helping her learn the intricacies of everything, and just talked. She's a nice woman and I look forward to working with her in the future. I made sure to let her know that I'm here if and when she needs me. I imagine so. She took it to heart and said she'd be in touch. I also gave her insights into the battles she will face in the coming months. Poor poor girl.
But one good thing started my day out well! Penguins in the tunnel! Every week a new mural is painted over. And this week's theme is "Happy Feet" from the movie. They're everywhere.
