National Zoo, Chipotle, Metro & More

This will have to be a quick post, as we're in the middle of being in two places. This morning I was able to sleep in and get 30 minutes of cardio done in Laura's 'gyme'. Tho that room could stand to be a little more air conditioned.

Laura and I just got back from the National Zoo in DC. It was a lot of fun, but extremely hot out. It didn't help that we also visited the humid rainforest exhibit or the 'experience the hot sun for 2 hours' exhibit. ;)

I got to see the route that Laura had to take to school every day during the last year. Bus to metro, metro to "Foggy Bottom", and then off to GW. We changed metro lines half way through from the blue to the red, so I got to experience the massive underground cave that is "Metro Central". Tons and tons of people commuting everywhere. It's neat to experience. But hey, I also get a kick out of rush hour traffic in Rochester (when its moving).

We had a great lunch at Chipotle mexican food. They made these gigantic burritos in front of us. The food reminded me of Raging Burrito in Rochester and we stuffed ourselves silly just a couple blocks down from the zoo.

We walked the zoo in 3-4 hours. The highlights of the entire time were seeing the baby ducks (VIDEO link, right click and save to desktop) and also the baby flamingos. And of course the end when we ate ice cream in the scorching sun, got cooled off in the mist fountains and also getting free diet coke with the coupon Cindy gave me. :)

Tonight we're off to Jason's place to have a BBQ dinner and to hang out. Jason is Luke O.'s best friend and also works at the Patent Office with him. It should prove to be fun.
